Vitale’s of Ada was founded in 1984 by Salvatore (Sam)
Vitale of Vitale’s on Leonard Avenue in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Angela,
Sam's niece, and her husband, Joe Polizzi ,purchased the Ada location in May
of 1985. With their talented staff Angela and Joe established a tradition of
fine Italian entrées with award winning pizza to the Ada, Forest Hills, and
Cascade & Lowell communities that has lasted twenty years.
Sam founded the first Vitale's on Leonard Street in
1966. The original location was a converted garage on Leonard Street, in
Grand Rapids, Michigan where Sam began a family tradition of fine Italian
cooking known and respected in the West Michigan area for nearly 40 years.
Sam's commitment to his work and his customers led to an era of expansion
for Vitale’s throughout the Grand Rapids area. In the early 80’s, Sam
decided to dedicate himself to one location and began selling the various
Vitale’s to relatives. As a result all but two of the restaurants carrying
the Vitale's name are still owned by Sam's family.
Many attribute the success of the Vitale's family to
quality homemade secret recipes and generous portions. This is just a part
of the story that makes Vitale's a West Michigan tradition. We also have
some great people working with us who keep the tradition going through their
commitment and dedication to the work they do. We are proud and fortunate to
have found many good friends in the people who work with us and have become
an important part of the Vitale's family.
The Vitale's family welcomes you to the family.
